Abstract
Slurs Suppose that at midnight you think you have seen a bat. Do you believe it because you simply saw the bat, or do you not believe it because it is too dark? Which reason should determine the epistemic status of a given belief? This so-called Generality problem is one of the most serious arguments against processual reliabilism. I will defend the thesis that the generalization problem is a sub-variant of something much more general and serious, and that similar ominous problems can be found in other domains.
